The True Spirit of the Season

candle heart

Give love, give kindness, give generously of yourself.  It will light up your heart.

The holidays are upon us, which means we are in the season of giving, a time when we think about what we can do to help others.  The true spirit of the season is not about buying gifts for family and friends but about digging down deep and thinking about people less fortunate than us and finding ways to give from our hearts.  It can be donating to charities, volunteering your time, or passing on kindness to a stranger.  Remember what Buddha said, “If you light a lamp for someone else, it will also brighten your path.”

Ron, Brian and I want to wish all of you the joy that kindness brings, now and all year long.  Open your heart and go spread some kindness.

This is a good time to remind you that if you have an idea for an act of kindness but need help funding it, you can apply for the Matt Kurtz Kindness Grant and turn your kindness idea into reality.  We want to help you spread kindness.

  1. another wonderful post Jackie. We do tend to get caught up in the stress of buying gifts when no one our age really needs anything! Love the picture of you, Ron & Brian and the heart of candles is beautiful as well. Best of the season to you all and best thoughts and wishes for a happy and healthy 2020, love you!!
